Newborn Session FAQ

How long are newborn sessions? At-home newborn sessions typically run up to 1.5 hours. Babies set the pace! We build in plenty of time for feeds, diaper changes, soothing, and outfit changes, so there's never a rush.

What should I expect during the session? These sessions are relaxed and baby-led. I'll guide you through a mix of close-up detail shots (tiny fingers, toes, lashes), cozy portraits of baby, and connection shots of baby with parents and siblings. If baby needs a break to eat or settle, we simply pause - there's no pressure to keep going on a schedule.

When should we book? I recommend booking during pregnancy so your date is secured, then confirming the exact session date once baby arrives. For traditional "sleepy baby" photos, the first 1-4 weeks after birth work best, though newborn sessions can still look beautiful up to about 3 months.

Do you offer hospital or Fresh 48 sessions? Yes! Fresh 48 sessions are available as their own session or as an add of to newborn sessions. If you're interested in booking, reach out. These sessions are typically shot in hospital (doesn't matter how beautiful or ugly your room is) and focuses on your new babe, their details, and any firsts you may want captured (e.g., first feed, first meeting sibling, etc.).

Is my home suitable for a session? Absolutely! Remember, the focus is your sweet babe. As long as you have a room with a window for good natural light, we will be able to capture the sweetest photos.

Family Session FAQ

--------

How long are family sessions? Family sessions run up to 30 or up to 60 minutes, depending on the package you choose. Shorter sessions work well for quick updates or mini-style shoots; the longer option gives more time for location changes (so we aren't stuck in one spot the whole session), for the kids to warm up, outfit changes (if desired), or larger immediate families

Do you offer mini sessions? Yes! Mini session info goes out to my email list first, ahead of being posted publicly on social media - so subscribing is the best way to get early access to available dates.

What about extended family or multi-generational sessions? Absolutely - I love capturing reunions and multi-generational gatherings. These are offered as their own session and price is determined based on the number of people and location. Sessions include a mix of full family photos, small immediate family photos, photos of the kids, grandkids, etc.

How many people can be in a family session? Regular family sessions are inclusive of up to 6 people. Larger families, extended families, and multi-generational groups have separate pricing and session length - reach out if you'd like more information.

What if the weather is bad on our outdoor session day? We either move to an indoor location, if available, or we reschedule for the next available date that works for everyone - no charge for weather-related rescheduling.

Branding Session FAQ

DD7A3119.jpg

How do branding sessions work? Before your session, we build a mood board together (Pinterest or similar) to nail down the look, feel, and colour palette you're going for. From there, we discuss your vision in detail — including outfit planning and backdrop or location choices — so that on the day of your shoot, everything is intentional and ready to go.

What's included in planning?

  • A collaborative mood board to define your visual style

  • A conversation about your brand, offerings, and goals for the images

  • Outfit and wardrobe planning

  • Backdrop and/or location selection

Do you offer studio photography? Yes - Depending on where you located, we can choose a studio that suits the vibe that you are going for.

What do I need to bring? Anything you'd like featured - products, tools of your trade, signature outfits, plus anything discussed in our planning conversation.

General FAQ

_MG_5921.jpg

What should we wear for our session? As a general rule: choose soft, coordinated (not matchy-matchy) tones, avoid large logos or busy patterns, and layer textures for visual interest. I'm happy to review outfit photos ahead of time if you'd like a second opinion.

Do you offer wedding photography? Absolutely. I take on 1-2 weddings per year and love capturing couples as they say 'I Do'!

Where do sessions take place? I'm based in Dufferin County and happy to travel anywhere. There is an added fee for sessions outside my regular areas (including Dufferin County, Centre Wellington, Wellington County, Brampton, Newmarket/Aurora, etc.). Sessions can take place at your home, outdoors, in-studio, or at your place of business, depending on session type.

How far in advance should I book? As soon as you have a date in mind! Newborn sessions should be booked during pregnancy, and seasonal family/mini sessions can fill up quickly, so earlier is always better.

How do I book? Reach out through the contact form with your session type and preferred timeframe, and I'll follow up to confirm details and hold your date.

Do you require a deposit? Yes - to secure your booking, a deposit is due. The amount varies depending on session type - I will inform you of your deposit amount after we pick a date. Deposits are non-refundable and only transferrable upon my discretion.

When will I receive my photos? You will receive your photos within 4-6 weeks, depending on your session type and the season. I do, however, try my best to have your photo gallery to you earlier because I cannot wait to get your reaction.

How many images will I receive? Gallery sizes depend on the session type.

Do you offer prints or albums? I do not offer prints but I do offer recommendations on where to print your photos for the best quality. I do offer the creation of photo books for an added fee.

What if I need to reschedule? For mini sessions, I require minimum 48 hour notice for rescheduling your session - you just might not get a spot during that mini session season, I will offer you a spot for another mini session and your deposit will transfer to the new session. For regular sessions, I am usually lenient, as long as you give me enough notice. All I ask is that you respect my time, as I respect yours!

Can we include pets in our session? Yes, Of course! Well-behaved pets are welcome in family and branding sessions - just let me know ahead of time so we can plan accordingly.
